Man!! I start the new school year in less than a week, but I was just posting about last year's new school year a couple posts ago...I guess that means I don't post enough, huh? I'm sorry my poor neglected blog. I'm an abusive blog-parent. :(
Any ways, what's on my mind right now? The song "Closing Time" by Semisonic. It was playing in Staples when I went to get my new binder and I'm kinda in love with it now. It sounds like it's about a bar closing, but the band says it's about birth. And once you hear that, it really does sound like it's about birth. When I heard it in the store the only lyrics I could really discern were "I know who I want to take me home, take me home" which is kind of interpretation nuetral. But what struck me on hearing it was how emotional and deep it sounded. And we girls, we love that stuff. Having it rendered so by a male singer really adds a kind of...whimsical element. Because I don't think I know any boy or man who has a song like this in them. Makes me think I want to find one who does. Whew, I wrote this and realized if you haven't heard the song you really wont get this! Oh well! Listen to it!
