OHMIGOSH!! How silly of me! I've been forgetting my blog when I totally have something to post about! This just occurred to me: Recently I googled "redheads" (which I am one of) and it really opened up this new world to me.
Growing up I've always sensed that, being a white American in a non-religous family, I've kind of missed out on any cultural experience I could have been born into. On the one hand, it's freedom. I'm well aware of restrictions a culture can put on a person, either from traditions within, or persecution from outside. But then again, there's a kind of pride and celebration that goes along with those cultural groups. And a feeling that you're apart of something. I think that that's something human beings really crave, and will fight for.
Well, getting back to the redhead search I did out of boredom, it turns out that through the internet I have access to a little mini-culture I wasn't even fully aware I was a part of. Just learning the science of redhair was invigorating. I could read the words on the screan and think: "Me, that's me this is talking about." There really is a lot there. Maybe no wars were ever fought over crimsom hued locks, but there's more of a culture there than I ever thought I was going to get. And really, it's a good thing no wars were ever fought. There's really so much I have to share about my exciting new world, I couldn't put it all in one post. Haha this'll be the first in a series, okay?
